Ever wonder where ‘Brunch’ comes from? That's a long and shadowy story for later (one that Smithsonian Magazine offers a glimpse to), but despite uncertain origins, most of us can agree that its popularity in America has led to the best breakfast and lunch combinations and has earned its way into the hearts and minds of the masses.
Today's Brunch
Today, brunch is a regular outing for those who gather– family, friends, coworkers, church members, you name it– and it’s turned out to be a social and cultural phenomenon.
What was once a leisurely event invites many impacted from Saturday night’s itinerary to take their time Sunday morning, instead of being left behind with early breakfast times.
Not only was brunch intended as a leisurely stroll, but it was an intentional social setting that brought people together and offered aromatic aids with now appropriate morning cocktails (hello Mimosas, and Marys). The atmosphere would also set the tone for mingling and more intentional conversations.

Though it’s shifted in nature, today's demand for more real life experiences (that double for curated content) means brunch is likely here to stay.
Some may name Dallas as a mecca for all things brunch– you can find many styles, including memberships, public outings, brand activations, and travel friendly-post workout-grab and go brunch.
Along with style options Dallas offers a variety of cuisine like that of LILA, Mirador, Saint Ann, Over Easy, etc.
Yet sometimes we crave an even slower morning filled with less coming and going and with the cozy surroundings of home.

When Brunch Sounds Best at Home
When you find yourself hosting a cozy brunch, here's a list of simple yet creative granola ideas that can easily be tweaked for your guest’s needs.
Melt in Your Mouth Butter Cups
Pre-baked butter cups are a simple and memorable treat. Add your granola to a muffin pan and consider adding your favorite nut butter in the middle. Spread the same on top and drizzle with fruit.
Strawberry and Cream Delight
Hands down, we recommend the NAKED (link) here– imagine a coconut crunch paired with a thin glaze of both plain and strawberry yogurt. Why not add melted dark chocolate on the side?
Team Toast or Bagel?
Include both toast and bagels with avocado, cream cheese, and a choice of nut butter. Consider other toppings like fruit, honey, sesame seasoning, and of course, granola.
Bars Fresh Out the Oven
Another premade (and celebrated) option are granola bars. Add a twist with a chocolate layered bottom, a raspberry or yogurt drizzle on top, and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Sometimes Banana Splits
A smile worthy and visually appealing option is the banana split– consider pre split bananas that guests can build on. Of course you’ll want plenty of fruit, granola, honey and chocolate.
The Parfait Board
This build your own board is perfect for building your own yogurt your way, and can easily be paired with any of the options above. Add a variety of fruits and THE VEE (link) granola for crunch.
Can you imagine hosting yours with a colorful mix of build-your-owns? Whether crafting your own brunch bar, or simply adding one or two of these options to your back pocket, we hope you find them delicious and a little joyful to your day.
