Why Small Batch Granola?
Simply put, small batched baking refers to baking in smaller batches, lending smaller quantities of deliciousness.
That’s it.
Now the ‘why’ is a little more interesting…
If not all of us, 98.99% of us all had granola that’s just… eh. If you’ve read Eh Granola vs. Good Granola (link), or or have tried Granola With Love for yourself, you know you can taste and feel the difference.
Typically the options found at grocery stores are beautifully packaged with not so beautiful ingredients. Mass production is a monster, and one that does not offer the level of care and oversight that small batching does.
Even big batched granola marketed as healthy, even gut friendly granola is often treated with questionable inclusions to make them last long past production.

You may have found one or two that check enough boxes, and after vetting, they leave you feeling guilty, bloated and with a crunch that’s simply not worth it.
We’ve been there!
Although small batching is not the only factor that sets us apart, it sets the tone, and offers us a chance to stay true to our values and keep an eye on every bite.

Mini Batches, Huge Benefits
At Granola With Love, we find small batching reflects our values through and through– it allows us to ensure that Love in Every Detail, Consistency is Comfort, Mindful Craftsmanship, Connection Through Food, and Nourishment Beyond Nutrition are in place.
So, producing smaller quantities offers a unique opportunity to align what we say, and do. It’s not only in the recipe, but the craft, care, and comfort we put into each batch can be intentionally curated and consistently poured throughout.
The benefits are many, but here are some of our favorites below. You can also read more about the values that shape everything we do here. > (Link to value page)
Pros to Smaller Batches…
Exude Home Baked Comfort
There’s something about the close to home feel that simply can't be beat. We prefer a soft enough crunch we can pop in our mouths at any moment. The crunch and feel… It's a balancing act.
Prioritize Healthy Ingredients
We love having familiarity with each and every ingredient– oftentimes mass market companies make compromises to meet shelf life and sales agreements. We prefer a different approach.
Leave Room to Experiment
Baking smaller quantities allows us to listen to our customers and respond quickly and lovingly. For example, some of you have shared interest in a vegan option with no coconut flakes, and something to satisfy your sweet tooth, so we made you something special– if you haven’t already, check out our ABC’s here.
Offer Less Waste
Sometimes there’s a batch or two that needs extra attention, and with diligence we can often make amends. But in the case it doesn’t work out, limited production means limited waste.
Emphasize Craft and Connection
Staying connected to our craft offers more quality control while keeping us connected to the same joy that started it all– it’s time spent doing what we love, with love, which is often thwarted with mass production.
No matter which way you stir it :) There's something for everyone in small batched baking, and what’s special is nurturing the potential of each. It’s the kind of care you can't rush or take for granted. It takes time, attention, along with consistent and persistent action… and it's another way of saying I love you.
